Big box stores advice is iffy at best.

As a former employee for two major electronics retailers, I can tell you the advice you get may or may not be beneficial to you.  Most of these people go through a basic computer learning course and most of the information is intended to entice you to buy into their accessories and extended warranty programs.

Most of the accessories they offer are good buy you can get components of equal quality for a fraction of the cost on line.  Most stores have a quota of 10% accessory attachment.  That means they are more interested in gaining sales numbers than actually providing you with the proper solution.

Product review and advice

As a former electronics tech, I have worked in the consumer electronics field for a long time and I embrace the new technology as a way to open new horizons for both business and entertainment.  Please feel free to make comments or ask any question regarding the subject.

Web tv the next big thing

We've went from cable tv to adding vcr's and then dvd's and now Web tv offers you a whole new world of choices.  Either wired or wireless web tv can bring back old tv shows from when you were a kid or the latest movies to hit the stores.  More and more of the new tv's include either an ethernet port or a wireless doungel.

Of the two the wired system is faster and is also much more secure.  The key is you computer.  You have to have a computer with a fast download speed and plenty of storage space.  Most of the new computers have taken the streaming video add-on into consideration.

As time goes on this will totally eliminate the need for dvd and vcr storage.  It will either be done of large hard drives or storage discs and devices.
